Full depth reclamation (also known as full depth recycling) is one of the fastest-growing resurfacing and rehabilitation techniques specified by pavement engineers today. FDR reuses existing base and surface materials, resulting in lower costs and higher returns, while increasing the overall speed of construction. Considered a "green construction" approach, FDR increases the strength of the pavement structure and reduces reflective cracking.

Mechanical Stabilization

  • Asphalt pulverization
  • Addition of materials to ensure base stabilization

Chemical Stabilization

  • Cement
  • Fly ash

Bituminous Stabilization

  • Foamed asphalt
  • Asphalt emulsions

By combining our knowledge of state-of-the-art technology with our innovative fleet of resurfacing equipment and vast range of stabilization additives, Dunn Company can use full depth reclamation on depths of up to 12" on resurfacing projects. The pulverized layers and additive(s) become one homogeneous, well-graded asphalt mix with improved structural characteristics that enhance overall pavement durability. The new stabilized base course is suitable for surfacing with hot mix asphalt, bituminous chip seal, or microsurfacing—depending on your unique traffic requirements.
