David Tyrolt
President & CEO


David Tyrolt is President and CEO of Dunn Company, a Division of Tyrolt, Inc. As Dunn’s top executive, his focus is to maintain and strengthen Dunn’s core principles—to attract and retain good team members; build strong relationships; to offer excellent quality service; develop niche business markets; invest in good equipment; and maintain a safe work environment.

David graduated from St. Teresa High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Indiana University. His relationship with Dunn began with his father, Frank Tyrolt, retired chairman of Dunn Company, when he was a child, but officially started during the summers from 1986-1991 while he was in high school and college.

After college, David worked in the banking industry until 1994, when he returned to the family business. He worked closely with his father and Bernie Naber, who served as mentors. David led the Pavement Maintenance Unit until 1996 and worked in the Base Stabilization Unit until 1998, when he was named Vice President. He became President and CEO in 2002.

His current community and professional associations include the Associated General Contractors of Illinois Board of Directors, Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Millikin University Associates Chairman, Macon County Conservation Foundation Board of Directors, Baby TALK Advisory Board and Rotary.

His past affiliations include Heritage Behavioral Health Chairman, Millikin-Decatur Executive Association Chairman, Junior Achievement Chairman, United Way Construction Division Co-Chair, Associated General Contractors of America Young Constructors Forum, Decatur Leadership Institute, Associated General Contractors of Illinois Leadership Development Institute.

David enjoys running, skiing, tennis, golf, fishing, hunting, and traveling.
